Thanks
to everyone who attended and participated at the UCWDC Worlds XVI
event held in Nashville, Tennessee. The beautiful Opryland Hotel
was again, a spacious and luxurious home to the Worlds event, and
the opportunity on Saturday to present the Variety Show, as well
as some of the upper divisions of competition including the
Masters Divisions, on the stage of the Opry House (home of the
Grand Ole Opry) was a very special occasion. Many dancers will be
telling their family and friends for years to come - that they
DANCED on that stage.
Dancers from 25 countries from around the World came to dance and
compete during the 7 day event with nearly 2000 in attendance.
The level of dance has again been raised by the new World
Champions - CONGRATULATIONS to each and every one of them. You

Special thanks go out to the staff of this very complex event.
The schedule ran well on every day other than Friday - due to the
overwhelming numbers of dancers who chose to enter the new Pro Am
Grand Championships. Any event of this magnitude depends on the
skills of those who carefully plan the schedule and assign staff
in advance to carry it out. Additionally - the expertise and
dedication of all the on-site staff and volunteers are necessary
to keep things running smoothly........and this year - what a
great job they did!!! The UCWDC wishes to express our deepest and
most sincere appreciation and thanks for a job well done by all
the Worlds event staff. Thank you!
With Worlds XVI behind us, and with new World Champions enjoying
their reign throughout the year, and with a whole new dance season
that lies before us in 2008.............the UCWDC is EXCITED!!!!
to announce that the next Worlds XVII Championships event will be
held in ORLANDO, FLORIDA at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort for
what promises to be a magical week of championships dancing in the
land of Mickey! Mark your calendars now - December 29, 2008
through January 4, 2009. It's going to be FUN!
